Annual Christmas Getaway

We took off on our annual Christmas getaway. We love to head there every year that we can. I think this is the 5th year we have gone. About every other year, we get to enjoy the company of friends. This year it was even more fun because we got to go with some great friends. We stayed in a very simple cabin next to the lake. No frills but it was perfect for us. The view was beautiful. The kids had a blast running around, jumping on beds, and staying up late.
The second day down there, we headed to our favorite breakfast place. A little old gas station turned infamous breakfast joint. Huge pancakes, mismatched coffee mugs, and random toys to keep the kids busy. It's a must!
Then came Christmas card photo shoot time. Every family blocked the road to get the perfect photo for our cards.
Santa gets the majority vote his year. Only one was not a fan. He never cried but did show his distaste. Sissy asked for an IPad. Big brother asked for a basketball and a blankie for his baby brother. How sweet is that?!? He did that all on his own. Baby brother loves big brothers satin blanket. So, Big bro decided to help out and ask for another blanket.
THe day was filled with fun rides, parades, carollling, hot cocco, and a night train ride. Great day!
Before heading home, we ventured out and rode the ducks! If you haven't ever done it, you should. The kids had a blast. They enjoyed driving it in the water. Half way through, hubby and I had the hardest laugh we had had in a long time. Big bro threw a wrench in the tour that was saved by an old water bottle...memories!
