First Snow
The Little Guy's first snow. I think it took longer to get him bundled up than it did for him to stay outside. It was very cold. He did take a couple sled rides down. He didn't seem to be phased by the sled rides. Just wait until next year and he will love sledding with his bro and sis.
We had a blast on the little hill in our backyard. It's perfect size for them. Just big enough to get good speed and just small enough for them to walk back up without any trouble. We also ventured out to some common ground in our subdivision. We found a great hill there, too. It was also much more scenic. The trees covered in snow where beautiful....didn't have my camera to catch that.

Miss You Much!
It's only been 3 days back at work and I am already reflecting on all the fun times I had while at home. Many of the things at the time seemed little, not monumental. However, now that I don't get to do them and may never get to do them again, they seem very important...and are very missed. The evenings seem to be the worst, as I anticipate the sadness of missing the kids during the next day. My heart aches to be with them.
I miss....
Spending time with this little guy. Everyday as we passed the bowling alley on our way to pick Sissy up, he would yell out, "You take me bowling some day?" I finally made time to take him bowling. He lasted about a game and a half before he tired out. He had fun.
I miss finding my phone filed with surprise pictures taken by someone other than me. Cookie the elf was a popular photo opp.
I miss taking him to do things during the day, like activities at the library.
I miss...
I dearly miss this little chubby guy. He was such a good baby. I couldn't have asked for anything better. He was such a great trooper. He got drug places everyday. He never had a consistent schedule because we were always on the go. He didn't mind. I thing he loved being out and about.
I miss wearing my moby wrap with him inside. I miss how he quickly fell asleep every time I put him in there. He loved being snuggled up close to me. I loved it too and loved having both hands free with a quiet baby.
I miss our morning walks. He loved to run up the hill looking for moths and spider webs.
I miss having extra time to watch the two of them play and not have to say, "Come on . we need to ..." Because we didn't have to rush around as much.
I miss watching big brother help out with little brother in ways that I might not always expect. He climbed in there and swears he was helping him. By the look on baby brothers face, not sure what kind of help he was giving. :)
I miss...
My daily routine. I miss volunteering at Sissy's school. Whenever I mentioned doing lunch duty, people would make a face as if it were a terrible thing. I found it quite a blessing. I was blessed to be able to go and see my daughter during the middle of her day. I was blessed that my daughter goes to a school where we are welcome to bring our younger children with us when we volunteer. I was able to see her and her brother enjoy their time together with her friends at recess. Little brother actually made a couple good friends that looked forward to his visits at school...and made Sissy a little jealous. He still says, "When I come to your school next time..." and then Sissy cuts him of. She realizes we aren't going up there any more but he has yet to understand it yet.
Some of the other volunteers would comment and call me super mom as I showed up with the baby wrapped to the front of me and 3 year old following behind. Nothing super about it...I just knew my time was limited to have this opportunity and why would I miss out on these memories.
Pajama day at her school.
How could you resist this face? I already miss not being able to see all of his milestones first. With each baby, I worry as I work that I won't be the first to see all the first. The next time I will have time off with him, he will be almost a year old...not a baby anymore.
My sweet baby...my last sweet baby. Not only do I have to worry about missing his firsts, I also am slowly missing his lasts....after I read this following article, I found myself veiwing each thing he does and trying to decide if it may be his last. I am hanging onto my favorites. I am not letting him have a last time sleeping on my chest at 5am...

Christmas Festivities!
Here are a few snapshots from all the festivities we did this past month. It was so much fun and made the month fly by so fast.
Christmas Trains~ We saw the Christmas trains again this year. The kids are finally old enough to partake in the seek and find activity that goes along with it. They found everything.
Going Gluten Free made us rethink our Christmas baking. This year we made candies instead of cookies. It was very easy and a big hit.
Santa showed up at a friends Christmas party. The kids had lots of opportunities to ask Santa for what they wanted. they sat on Santas lap at least 5 times! Each time asking for a "big jeep" and an "American Girl Doll"
Surprise! Santa showed up Christmas Eve at Mama and Papa's house, also. The kids had one last chance to ask him for what they wanted. Below they were looking out the window after Santa left. They swear they saw a red light from Rudolph's nose and a flash of light dash across the sky.
Another Christmas surprise involved a weekend trip. We had fun getting away and seeing all the lights.
Baby Boys FIRST Christmas gift. From Great Grandma Shirley!
Great Grandma Shirley
Santa pulled through with a win. He got his BIG JEEP and she got her AMERICAN GIRL DOLL.
And this guy...He was a happy little present himself. He was such a good boy over the Holidays. Never got crabby, even when up to 11:00 sitting on my lap as we played games Christmas Eve.
THis Christmas was bitter sweet for me. I think we had the most fun as a family. It seems to get better each year as the kids get older and as our family grows. However, this also marks the end of my maternity leave. When he was born, it seemed like January was sooo long away. I thought it would make it easier to return after a long time off. I couldn't have been more wrong. My heart aches at the thought of going back. I have been placing the thought out of my mind to avoid the realization of it. I only have a few more days and then the realization is going to hit me...at about 5:30 AM! I am giving my worries to God and believe that I will have a different plan next year.
6 Months Already!
17+ pounds of cuteness!
He is growing so fast. This past month he learned to sit up, scoot in circle while laying on his belly, say Dadaa, reach out and grab toys, and my favorite...give kisses. He reaches out grabs my face with his hands and slams his mouth on my cheek. He's not the smoothest kisser but sure is cute.
Thanks Uncle Mat for some awesome pics again! Blue Bamboo Creative!

All Aboard!
An impromptu imaginative Polar Express train ride was such a hit at our house. I always enjoyed doing this type of lesson at school with my students....Now, I get to do it with my own children. When doing this, I love to see thier innocnce and great ability to belive in almost anything! It's great.
We started the evening by getting in our PJ's, making hot chocolate, and reading the book Polar Express. It's one of my favorites. If you haven't read it, you should.
Then we took our hot chocolate and train tickets out to our makeshift train aka Swagger Wagon.
Some of the passengers just couldn't hang in there the whole time. The singing of Christmas carols and light looking couldn't overpower the pull of a no nap day. He was the 2nd man down in our car....but still holding his hot coco and train ticket.
Just as we were about to end our train ride, Sissy looked under her chair and found the "Santa's First Gift of the Season." She couldn't believe it. How in the world did Santa get one of his reindeer bells in our car....She loved it and can't wait to tell her brother to check his seat when he wakes in the morning.
I had been wanting to go on one of the real Polar Express Train rides with the kids for quite some time. However, they are so expensive and not anywhere close to where we live. After tonight, I think we may have started a new tradition...that will save us $$$ on train tickets. :)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....
We have been preparing for Christmas for quite a while now. The Elf movie has been playing in the background of our house nonstop. We love this time of year. I love all the memories old and new.
